The Big Slice 8th August 2014 - the latest tips, tricks and tutorials in the world of cake
Good Morning Cakers!
This week at LCDO HQ we have been planning a few new things behind the scenes that we are super excited about and can't wait to share.....but more about that later!
This has been a huge week on social media with a few cakey stories and techniques that have just gone nuts. So here's to whats hot in the online space this week.
1. Make a Tiger Cake from Malaysian Blogger Azlita Aziz
We just love things that are easier than they look and this is just a gorgeous way to create a fun cake for a safari or jungle themed birthday party.
2.How to get all the forms you need for your cake business
Don't you love it when you post something on social media and its goes a bit nuts and then you realize you posted a broken link? Aaah I did that this week. It seems a few of you were keen to get your hands on my Business and Marketing forms Pack (Value $37) and so here is the correct link!
When you start a business, it can take just so long to get all your ducks in a row. I know for me this part of my business took so much trial and error and really alot of refining. So here it is....with the hard work taken out for you. CLICK HERE
We found this gorgeous technique, thanks to The Piping Bag Company. It looks so easy, but so effective. Yay, have to love techniques like that.

And one of our own that went a little bit crazy this week, we showed you how to make these gorgeous sugar hearts that you can use to decorate your cakes, cookies or pop into little treat bags!
5.What went wrong with your cake
And lastly, the good folk over at Lifehacker published this excellent guide
That's it from me in another week in the cake world. Hopefully there are a few tips, tricks and ideas for you over the weekend.
Happy Caking and be sure to let us know on our Facebook page what you liked this week or what cool things you have seen on the web in the world of cake!
